Updates:
DAN BOCCIA TO DJ
Dan Boccia, one of the most prominant and renowned tango DJs in the United States, has agreed to come down from Anchorage, AK to DJ one of the evening milongas for the 2013 festival.
NEY MELO JOINS 2013 CADRE
Ney Melo has agreed to be a featured instructor for the 2013 festival.
Join us for the fourth annual Albuquerque Tango Festival. Our 2012 festival was a huge hit. Over 600 participants enjoyed the world-class instructors and DJs, the super-large (3,000 SF) dance floor, our warm and welcoming tango community, the high levels of floor craft, and our signature touch, cake at every milonga. Our 2013 festival is shaping up to be bigger, better, and even more friendly. Don’t miss it.
Festival Highlights
- Over 30 hours of milongas with world-class DJs
- New this year: three-hour workshop style class sessions which allow instructors to thoroughly develop themes to get to know students.
- Our giant 3,000 SF main dance floor and two auxillary floors, all in a 14,000 ballroom!
- Our signature touch: A custom-baked cake at every milonga
- One of the friendliest, most welcoming tango communities anywhere.
- New this year: A fantastic new venue, the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town, which offers much more space than our prior venu and which is adjacet to Old Town, which puts over 13 cafes, restaurants, galleries, and shops a short stroll away.
Mission Statement
My goal in organizing the Albuquerque Tango Festival is to provide the elements, environment, and support that will allow dancers to have their deepest tango experiences ever.
